The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Refugee Team for Paris 2024 arrived at the Olympic Village on Thursday.
The concoction of athletes from all over the World will be appearing for third time at the Olympics, an initiative started by the IOC at the 2016 Rio summer Olympics.
This year’s team consists of 36 athletes 14 of which are from Iran and includes athletes from Africa, Asia and Central & South America as they look to bring home the first medal of any kind for the newly formed team.
This year the chef de mission of the Olympic Refugee Team is Masomah Ali Zadah the Afghan refugee cyclist who participated in the women’s time trial at Tokyo 2020.
