The retirement press conference of Sarina Koga, who played for NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki and the Japan Women’s National Volleyball Team, was held on August 16, 2024 at the Toshi Center Hotel in Nagatacho, Chiyoda Ward. Our newspaper covered the press conference, so we will report on Sarina Koga’s comments in their entirety. Sarina Koga was born on May 21, 1996, and graduated from Kumamoto Shinai Girls’ High School. As an outside hitter with a height of 180 cm, she played for NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki for nine years. While playing for NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki, she won the V Premier League Best Newcomer Award and Most Valuable Player Award, and also won the Empress’s Cup and the V League for two consecutive years. She was first selected for the Japanese national team in 2013, and has continued to play an active role for the national team ever since, participating in the Tokyo Olympics and the Paris Olympics as captain, and continuing to support the women’s volleyball world.
