His nickname is “Jaguar” because of his incredible speed and high awareness of the goal. He began playing soccer from a young age, and his talent blossomed at his hometown of Yokkaichi Chuo Technical High School in Mie Prefecture. In 2013, he made his professional debut at #Sanfrecce Hiroshima, and in 2015 he won the #J League #Best Young Player Award. In 2016, he moved to #Arsenal FC, the prestigious English #Premier League. He then gained experience at overseas clubs such as #VfB Stuttgart in Germany, #Hanover 96, and Serbian Partisan Belgrade, and in 2021 he transferred to #VfL Bochum in Germany. In the 2023 World Cup, he scored the second goal, the winning goal in the first match against Germany, making a significant contribution to the victory. In 2024, he moved to #RCD Mallorca in Spain and began a new challenge. ▼ #Higuchi Shiro, former soccer team manager at Yokkaichi Chuo Technical High School, contributed to being runner-up at the 56th #High School Soccer Championship as captain in his third year at Fourth Junior High School. After graduating, he worked for #Honda Motorcycle and #PJM Futures (now #Sagan Tosu), and during his time at PJM he participated in the #Emperor’s Cup as a coach and a player, while also obtaining a teaching license through correspondence education. He was assigned to his alma mater, Shichu Kogyo, in 1991, and after working as a coach for four years, he became manager. Until he retired in 2019, he achieved results such as runner-up in the championship and the 4th place in the final, and has produced numerous #J-Legals and coaches. He was also involved in developing the #World Cup Japan national team players, including #Tsuboi Keisuke and #Asano Takuma.
