The 20th edition of the World Athletics Championships will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from September 13 to 21, 2025, at the Japan National Stadium. Tokyo previously hosted the event in 1991, making 2025 the third time Japan—and the second time Tokyo—plays host. More than 2,000 athletes from around 200–210 nations are expected to compete across 49 track and field events.
