The 10 year anniversary of @kjh_0526 ‘s first competition in the Korean Senior National Team was a few months ago, so I decided to make one final highlight for him 🫡 Eun-woo and Jeongwoo Dad Highlights

Junho was fun to watch, and maybe that’s enough ✨

Kim Jun-ho is a South Korean fencer who became the first in the country to win medals at three consecutive Olympic Games. He achieved this feat at the 2020 Olympics. Kim started fencing in middle school after his school encouraged students to take up the sport, with a focus on sabre. Previously, he played football in primary school. His Instagram handle is @fencingtuna.

Everyone knows Kim Junho 김준호 for being in Twenty-Five Twenty-One 스물다섯 스물하나 for like 30 seconds, and having a baby called Eun-woo in The Return of Superman (also known as The Superman is Back) 슈퍼맨이 돌아왔다.

But did you also know that Kim Junho 김준호 is also the second best male Korean sabre fencer with the initials KJH – wowee!

Kim Junho 김준호 was also a member of the Korean team which won the Men’s Sabre Fencing Team World Championships in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022; the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021; and the Asian Games in 2018 and 2023.

Kim Junho 김준호 first appeared on the international circuit at the 2015 Luxardo World Cup, where he beat the World Number 1 at the time – Tiberiu Dolnicieanu – in the Round of 16. He then lost to teammate Kim Junghwan in the quarterfinals. Kim Junho 김준호 would then win his first Individual World Cup Medal at 2016 Warsaw World Cup, by defeating Aron Szilagyi, Max Hartung, and Kamil Ibragimov, before losing to Gu Bongil 구본길 in the final.

After Won Wooyoung and Oh Eunseok retired in the season of 2015-16, Kim Junho 김준호 became a regular in the substitution spot / starting line-up in the Korean mens sabre team until his retirement in 2024.

Kim Junho 김준호 is known for having a very wide and low en guarde position which helps him to change directions and have a very bouncy style of footwork. At the 2018 Wuxi World Championships, Kim Junho 김준호 won Bronze in the Individual Men’s Sabre event. Despite being a very well-known fencer on the international circuit, Kim Junho 김준호 never won an individual event and finished in the FIE Top 16 rankings only 4 times in his entire career.

In August 2021, Kim Junho 김준호 signed with Haewadal Entertainment.

Kim Junho 김준호 retired in January 2024 in the lead up to the Paris Olympic Games. He had a very good chance of qualifying for Team Korea. My speculation is that Kim Junho 김준호 retired because being a celebrity is way more fun than winning more fencing events, which is fair enough.
