Indonesian National Team goalkeeper, Maarten Paes, has officially become the goalkeeper for Ajax Amsterdam in the second half of the 2025/2026 season. Ajax has tied the 27 year old player to a contract until June 30 2029. At his new club, Paes will use the jersey number 26. Ajax Amsterdam Football Director Marijn Beuker explained that Paes has been on the club’s target radar for the last few seasons. Paes is considered to have the criteria as a goalkeeper that Ajax needs, namely an experienced and reliable goalkeeper. “He is also very hard working, a team player with a high level sporting mentality which fits perfectly with the type of goalkeeper we are looking for,” said Beuker. Paes’ presence is considered to strengthen the squad for the coming seasons. Paes’ performance when playing for 3.5 years at FC Dallas was considered quite good with a record of 25 matches without conceding a goal in 128 matches in various competitions. Paes played a total of 11,532 minutes at his old club. For his records at the national team level, he is one of the players naturalized by PSSI.
