Every Olympics, host cities are tasked with identifying potential legacies while preparing for the Games and present them in a report that’s updated on a regular basis. An initial report for Beijing 2022 highlighted the impact that the Winter Games have had on local communities, including employment, infrastructure and the engagement of 300 million people in winter sports. The IOC’s director of sustainable development had this to say earlier on the legacy of this year’s Beijing Games.
