SEIYA IS BACK! Suzuki Rejoins Cubs vs. Pirates! Roster Moves & Lineup Shakeup!
Chicago Cubs fans, the wait is over! Our star right fielder is back in the pinstripes. Today, April 10, 2026, the Cubs have officially activated Seiya Suzuki from the 10-day IL. After a knee injury during the World Baseball Classic sidelined him for the start of the season, Seiya is ready to make his 2026 debut at Wrigley Field.
The “Seiya” Impact: Why This Changes Everything
The Cubs have stayed afloat thanks to the incredible play of PCA and Nico Hoerner, but this lineup has been missing its “middle-of-the-order” thump. Suzuki is coming off a massive 2025 season where he set career highs in runs and RBIs. Adding his elite eye and power back into a lineup that already features Alex Bregman and Dansby Swanson makes the Cubs one of the most dangerous offenses in the National League.

Manager Craig Counsell confirmed that the team wanted him “100% ready to play the grass,” so expect Seiya to start in Right Field today against the Pirates.
The Roster Casualty: Dylan Carlson Out?
To make room for Suzuki, the Cubs have to make a move. While Matt Shaw has been impressive, he has options and versatility that keep him on the roster. Unfortunately, this likely marks the end of Dylan Carlson’s stint on the active roster, or potentially a demotion for Moisés Ballesteros to get regular ABs in Iowa.
