While Usain Bolt set a new Olympic record at Beijing to win the men’s 200m, Andre De Grasse won gold in the 200m sprint at Tokyo 2022 by setting a national record time of 19.62 seconds. De Grasse’s gold was Canada’s first in the 200m since Amsterdam 1928 and the first gold medal of De Grasse’s Olympic career.
