In a bribery case surrounding the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office has seized recorded data of a former director of the organizing committee discussing a sponsorship contract with Aoki Holdings. Former director of the Organizing Committee, Haruyuki Takahashi (78), is suspected of receiving 51 million yen in total from AOKI. According to AOKI officials, in 2017 Takahashi met with Hironori Aoki (83), the former chairman of AOKI Holdings, several times at a steak restaurant in Tokyo. It turns out that the part was recorded. It means that the special investigation unit is seizing the data. Regarding the sponsorship contract, ANN’s coverage has revealed that in June 2017, the payment method of 750 million yen was discussed. On the other hand, Takahashi’s side denied, “We have not discussed the sponsorship contract in 2017.”
