The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office has arrested an executive of major advertising agency Daiko for allegedly bribing a former director of the organizing committee in a corruption scandal surrounding the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. Yoshikazu Taniguchi (57), an executive of “Ohiro”, asked Haruyuki Takahashi (78), a former director of the Organizing Committee, to take advantage of the contract work for the tournament sponsor. He is suspected of giving a bribe of 6 million yen. In addition, Kazumasa Fukami (73), who runs the company to which Takahashi and Ohiro received funds, was arrested again on suspicion of accepting bribes.
