Yesterday, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office’s Special Investigation Department indicted a former director of the Organizing Committee for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics for accepting a bribe of approximately 15 million yen from the advertising agency Daiko. This is the third time the former director has been indicted. Haruyuki Takahashi (78), a former director of the organizing committee of the tournament, and Kazumasa Fukami (73), an acquaintance, were indicted for accepting bribes. In addition, Yoshikazu Taniguchi (57), an executive officer of “Ohiro”, was indicted for bribery. The special investigation department said that Takahashi received a bribe of about 15 million yen after receiving a request from Taniguchi from around January 2014, before he became a director of the tournament organizing committee. Defendant Takahashi was asked by Defendant Taniguchi to allow Ohiro to conduct sponsorship contracts, and was also asked to reduce the sponsorship fee for the company that Ohiro was in charge of. Regarding defendant Takahashi, it is known that another acquaintance’s company received about 20 million yen in funding from the advertising company “ADK Holdings”, and the special investigation department is expected to continue the investigation. ▼TBS NEWS DIG official website https://newsdig.tbs.co.jp/ ▼Please subscribe to the channel! http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6AG81pAkf6Lbi_1VC5NmPA?sub_confirmation=1 ▼Provide information here “TBS Insiders” https://www.tbs.co.jp/news_sp/tbs-insiders.html ▼Provide video Click here for “TBS Scoop Post” https://www.tbs.co.jp/news_sp/toukou.html
