Here’s a 21-year-old Yuto Nagatomo scoring his first three J1 League goals for FC Tokyo during his rookie year in 2008.
Before becoming one of the most successful exports in Japanese football history, Yuto Nagatomo began his professional career at FC Tokyo, scoring his first career goal in May 2008, winning the first of his 122 (so far) senior Japan caps in the same month, before winning the J.League Cup in 2009. A successful loan move to Serie A side Cesena the following year attracted the attention of Inter Milan. Nagatomo subsequently became the first Japanese player to sign for the Italian giants, before making over 200 appearances them and developing into one of the most consistent full-backs in Serie A.
