Japan head coach Hajime Moriyasu says qualifying for the World Cup will be “a dream” for both his team and the country with the Samurai Blue on the brink of advancing to Doha 2022.

A win in their Group B qualifier against Australia in Sydney on Thursday will clinch Japan a spot at the World Cup.

Moriyasu will be missing several players including defenders Takehiro Tomiyasu and Hiroki Sakai, forward Yuya Osako and the Celtic attacking duo of Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda.

But he said the team has had a good preparation and wants to see Japan punch its ticket to Qatar with a match still remaining.
