The San Diego Padres just announced they have extended Manny Machado to an 11-year $350M deal and are still rumored to be trying to lock up Juan Soto to a mega deal. As they have already signed/extended Fernando Tatis Jr, Xander Bogaerts, Yu Darvish, and Joe Musgrove to large contracts many question how the Padres can afford this.
