As Takumi Minamino’s loan spell with Southampton comes to an end, Matt Addison explores the Japan international’s future at Anfield, and if he has one, how do Liverpool get the best out of him?

Minamino played at Salzburg alongside Erling Haaland before the goalscoring sensation’s departure to Borussia Dortmund. Haaland has been successfully replaced at the Red Bull club by Patson Daka, who having been extensively linked to Liverpool, now seems set for Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City.
