South Africa’s Olympic Gold medalist Tatjana Schoenmaker returned home today.
She set a new Olympic record in the women’s 100 meters breaststroke, before claiming Team SA’s first medal in Tokyo — a silver in the same event. The 24-year-old carried that form into her favourite event, the 200 meters breaststroke where she won her heat in an Olympic record and qualified for the final with the fastest time.
