Participated in the #WinterOlympics four times, and won the group #Gold medal in the #NordicCombined at the 1992 Albertville Games and the 1994 Lillehammer Games. An interview with Kenji Ogiwara, who is known as the “#King of Skiing” and has made this sport a popular sport in Japan. At the 1998 Nagano Games, as the captain of the Japanese team, he took the oath of the players at the opening ceremony. After retiring from active duty, he served as a member of the House of Councillors, and during his tenure he served as a member of the Education, Education and Science Committee and as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. After he retired in 2010, he played a major role as a coach in producing the first Olympic medalist in 20 years. He was appointed mayor of Nagano in November 2021, and is currently supporting the dreams of children and working hard to create a city where everyone can live comfortably.
