The infamous battle between Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo and Kawasaki Frontale has been widely known for all the dramas that happen on the pitch and of course, the 2019 J.League YBC Levain Cup was no exception. It was the first time for the South East Asian countries to have a representative in such a massive final match on Japanese soil and the Thai star Chanathip Songkrasin really did pull out a huge performance against Kawasaki Frontale. The two teams kept taking turns to lead the scoreboard and even a red card was given to Shogo Taniguchi after an attempt to stop Jay Chanathip from approaching the penalty box. Eventually, the winners had to be decided through a penalty shootout, and the team that made fewer mistakes, Kawasaki Frontale, was the one who smiled at the end.
