Who’s left for the San Francisco Giants? Seiya Suzuki and Kyle Schwarber signed new deals this morning, neither with the Giants. Suzuki ended up landing a five-year, $85 million deal from the Cubs ($100M with posting fees), and Schwarber got 4/$79 million from the Phillies. Where do the SF Giants go from here?

On today’s Locked On Giants podcast, host Ben Kaspick details the state of the free agent market. He analyzes the trends in the market so far: it’s generally been inflated, with players signing for far more years and higher AAV’s than predicted. He explores the remaining free agent market, and goes into detail on players like Tommy Pham, Joc Pederson, and Jorge Soler. He also reiterates that Michael Conforto, Kris Bryant, Nick Castellanos, and perhaps even Trevor Story continue to make sense for the Giants. Farhan Zaidi said yesterday that Tommy La Stella may miss the beginning of the season while rehabbing Achilles surgery, so the Giants are targeting a second baseman. There are lots of options on the free agent market, with varying degrees of talent available.

Finally, he explores the fantasy of the Giants signing Carlos Correa or Freddie Freeman. It’s hard to see the fit for either player, but they’re both special talents worth exploring.
