On Thursday, February 18, 2021, Seiko Hashimoto became the new chairman of the Tokyo Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Chairman Hashimoto has participated in seven Olympic games in summer and winter. At the Albertville 1992 Winter Olympics, he won the bronze medal at the 1500m Speed Skating Women’s Championship.
