In the Osaka Marathon, 21-year-old Kiyosumi Hirabayashi (Kokugakuin University) won the men’s race with a time of 2 hours, 6 minutes, and 18 seconds, the 7th place in Japan’s history. It was the best first marathon in Japan and broke the Japanese student record. Stephen Kissa (Uganda) was 2nd with 4 seconds difference.
