Soccer player Maya Yoshida undergoes foot measurement and motion analysis

On July 20, Japan national soccer team defender Maya Yoshida (Southampton) visited the Osaka headquarters of Mizuno, where he has a brand ambassador contract, to measure his foot shape and analyze his movements in order to develop spikes. In the biomechanics laboratory, a room with artificial turf and special measuring equipment, students sprinted and kicked a ball to examine how weight was applied to their legs. Yoshida, who is being hailed as a captain candidate for the World Cup in four years’ time, said, “I don’t think about the future. Every year is a challenge. I want to focus on what needs to be done and make the next new national team.”
