57 years later, after Ian O’Brien’s 🇦🇺 triumph at Tokyo 1964, Zac Stubblety-Cook 🇦🇺 became the reigning champion and gold medallist from Tokyo 2020! The 25-year-old Australian swimmer set an Olympic record with a time of 2:06.38, marking Australia’s first gold in this event in over half a century.
