The following Olympic Sports (or disciplines of a sport) make up the current Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 Olympics. These are ranked based on the number of Gold Medals to be WON in each Sport (Discipline).
In this visualization are a complete List of ALL the Sports (Discipline) that are contested in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
*Note that these are only Gold Medals. Some Sports offer 2 Bronze Medals to competing Olympic athletes. From combat sports like Judo, Boxing, Taekwondo and Wrestling.. awarded to one for each eliminated semi-finalist or for the winners of the repechage brackets.
Repechage is a practice in series competitions that allows participants who failed to meet qualifying standards by a small margin to continue to the next round.
