Fourteen softball pitchers Yukiko Ueno, who won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Yamamoto of Gunma Prefecture and reported on the results of the tournament. The prefectural office was visited by 14 softball representatives from Japan, including pitcher Yukiko Ueno and director Reika Utsugi of “Big Camera Takasaki” based in the prefecture, and chairman Yutaka Miyake of the Japan Softball Association. At the ceremony, Director Utsugi reported the result, “I am relieved as a director that I got the gold medal.” In response to this, Governor Yamamoto said, “I have given hope to many Japanese people, including the prefecture. After this, pitchers Ueno and others showed off a catch ball, and Governor Yamamoto experienced the ball speed of pitcher Ueno. In November, the prefecture plans to present the prefectural honor award to 13 athletes and leaders based in the prefecture.
