The final qualifying round for the 2026 North America World Cup in Asia begins on September 5th. Moriyasu Japan, aiming to participate in their eighth consecutive World Cup, had their first practice day on September 2nd. They have gathered their best members, including Nagatomo Yuto, who is aiming to participate in his fifth World Cup, and Mitoma Kaoru, who is returning to the national team for the first time in about seven months. The best members are accompanied by Japan national team captain Hasebe Makoto, who retired last season, as coach. Nagatomo Yuto, who played with Hasebe on the Japan national team, relies on him as a “person who helps me calm my mind.” On the first day, 16 players participated, but only six practiced on the pitch.
