The Los Angeles Angels have reportedly agreed to a three-year, $63 million contract with left-handed pitcher Yusei Kikuchi, pending a successful physical. Kikuchi, 33, will earn $21 million annually, raising his career MLB earnings to $142 million. The deal comes after Kikuchi’s strong finish to the 2024 season, where he posted a 2.70 ERA in 10 starts with the Houston Astros. Kikuchi, an All-Star in 2021, has spent time with the Seattle Mariners, Toronto Blue Jays, and Houston Astros. His addition strengthens the Angels’ rotation, which also includes Tyler Anderson, Reid Detmers, José Soriano, and new acquisition Kyle Hendricks. Despite a dismal 63-99 record in 2024, the Angels are aiming to revamp their roster with this aggressive offseason approach.
