Despite desperate attempts, the USSR national team failed to save the most important match with their main rival, the Czechoslovakians. Two minutes before the end of the game, Polupanov and Boris Mayorov reduced the gap in the score to a minimum, but the USSR national team failed to achieve more, and before the last round a very tense situation developed in the group of leaders: three teams of Czechoslovakia, the USSR and Canada, had 10 points each, and Sweden had 8. But the Czechoslovakians had an advantage over the USSR team, after winning the head-to-head match. In turn, Canada, if they won against the USSR, would come out on top. But unexpected events occurred in the last round, which…we will talk about later. And finally, let us note that the judges were very inattentive when determining the assistants, and made mistakes on several goals at once, in some cases not taking them into account, and in others adding extra ones. Goals: 0-1 Mayorov (Zimin KUZKIN 00:28), 1-1 Shevchik (Khoreshovski, Irzhik 14:33), 2-1 Heima (Irzhik – EXTRA, Shevchik 17:40), 3-1 Havel (Cherny 18: 06), 3-2 Blinov (Firsov 27:03), 4-2 Golonka (Sukhi 38:38), 5-2 Irzhik (Golonka 56:01), 5-3 Polupanov (FIRSOV Vikulov 56:30), 5-4 Mayorov (KUZKIN Starshinov 57:34). Missed assistants are marked in capital letters.
