The name Birkner first appeared on the ski circuit in the 1980s. The second generation of the Argentinian ski family is now represented at major events. 🧑🧑🧒🧒🇦🇷
Jorge, Carolina and her twin brother Ignacio and Magdalena were also part of the 1988 Olympic Games. The next generation consists of Cristian Simari Birkner and Macarena Simari Birkner, as well as Jorge Francisco Birkner Ketelhohn.
Skiing is an expensive sport. The difference in opportunities to the major nations is enormous, which is why the family often had to go to work during competition times, such as the father as a ski instructor in the village.
However, the fact that the name Simari Birkner will still be appearing at ski races in 2026 is not only possible thanks to the youngest member of the family, Angelica. Macarena’s daughter and Christian’s sons are also already enthusiastic skiers. ⛷️
