From 3 to 8 March, six quotas will be up for grabs at the 13th edition of the championships in Switzerland
This biennial competition will see 400 athletes from 25 countries compete across three individual events (individual race, vertical race, sprint race) and two team events (mixed relay and team event) for a total of five sets of medals.
This will be the last major event before the sport makes its Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026, just under a year away.
The championships will also serve as a direct qualifier for the upcoming Winter Olympics, with quotas* available in each of the three Olympic events on the programme: four (two men and two women) in the mixed relay, two in the women’s sprint, and two in the men’s sprint.
Mixed Relay Race: In mixed teams of two athletes, each member races once as they both carry out a circuit one after the other. Each circuit lasts about 15 minutes, including two ascents and descents, and a short section with the skis on the rucksack.
* As National Olympic Committees have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games, athletes’ participation at the Milano Cortina Games depends on their NOC selecting them to represent their delegation at Milano Cortina 2026.
