Despite the warming temperatures, it was far from swimming weather in eastern Iowa. However, that didn’t stop some Iowa City residents from taking a chilly dip into Special Olympics Iowa’s mobile polar plunge trailer this afternoon.
The annual polar plunge event raises funds to support Special Olympics Iowa, which provides year-round sports training, competition, health education, unified champion schools, and leadership programming for over 10,700 athletes and unified partners across the state.
