The Bulgarian team was in top form:
With 37.700 points, they led the field after the first routine (5 hoops). They then secured their place at the top with a strong result in the second routine (ribbons + balls) of 32.700 points. This gave them a total of 70.400 points – first place in the qualification round.
However, they were unable to secure victory in the final: the Chinese team went on to win the gold medal, with Bulgaria finishing fourth in the final standings.
