Kazuyasu Minobe of Nexus, who won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics Fencing Epe Men’s Group, visited Terao Elementary School in Takasaki City and told the children the importance of having their favorite things and goals. This visit was invited by Terao Elementary School to give children the opportunity to hear directly from gold medalist Minobe. A total of about 100 people from the 5th and 6th grades participated in the talk session, in which teacher Atsuya Ogiwara of Terao Elementary School asked Minobe a question. When asked, “What do you do when you have a hard time practicing?”, He said, “I loved fencing and had something to aim for, so I enjoyed my efforts.” When asked by the children, “What do you think is important in your life?”, Minobe answered, “Don’t forget your gratitude.” After this, a gold medal was shown, and the children were checking its weight and brilliance.
