The Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics are finally starting! This event marks the 100th anniversary since the Deaflympics were first held in France, and is the first Deaflympics to be held in Japan. We will deliver the opening ceremony of the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics live from the venue. At the opening ceremony, we will welcome the athletes with performances by deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing people, as well as a production of lights and sound (vibration). We will also convey to the audience the appeal of deaf culture and deaf sports, and celebrate the beginning of the 100th anniversary of the tournament. *The icons on the left and right below the interpreter represent “IS” + Earth: International Sign Language, and “JSL” + Japanese Flag: Japanese Sign Language.
