I am Kat and I go there as a journalist – I am soooo excited. In this very first video from Beijing I tell you all about getting to Beijing. What procedures have to be done before you can actually board the flight to Beijing? How many PCR tests I had to do, how I got a red code and then the green code. Then I flew from Madrid to Milan and then after a long flight with Air China (I also unpack the food and you get to see famous hazmat suits!) we finally made it to Beijing. I go through all the airport procedures and very robust PCR test at the airport (mine wasn’t so bad, but I did ask them to be gentle :). Not sure if it worked.
Then arriving to the hotel and after my PCR test from the airport comes back negative, I am allowed to move around the closed Beijing 2022 loop – dedicated for journalists and athletes. We can move ONLY between the hotel and Olympic venues. We explore Main Media Center and it’s already so much fun. I try food made by the robots, how cool is that?
