His nickname is “Jaguar” due to his amazing speed and high goal-oriented attitude. He started playing soccer from a young age, and his talent blossomed at Yokkaichi Chuo Technical High School in his hometown, Mie Prefecture. In 2013, he made his professional debut with Sanfrecce Hiroshima, and in 2015 won the J League Best Young Player Award. In 2016, he moved to #ArsenalFC, a prestigious club in the English #Premier League. After that, he gained experience at overseas clubs such as VfB Stuttgart and Hannover 96 in the German Bundesliga and Partizan Belgrade in Serbia, and in 2021 transferred to VfL Bochum in Germany. At the 2023 #QatarWorld Cup, he scored the second goal, the deciding goal, in the first match against Germany, making a major contribution to the victory. In 2024, he moved to #RCD Mallorca in Spain and started a new challenge. ▼ #Shiro Higuchi Former Yokkaichi Chuo Technical High School Soccer Club Director Contributed to the 56th #High School Soccer Championship runner-up as captain during his 3rd year at the 4th Junior High School. After graduating, he played an active role at #Honda Motors and #PJM Futures (currently #SaganTosu), and during his time at PJM, he participated in the #Emperor’s Cup as a player who also served as a coach, while also obtaining a teaching license through correspondence education. In 1991, he was assigned to his alma mater, Shichuu Tech, and after serving as a coach for four years, he became the manager. Since then, until his retirement in 2019, he has achieved results such as runner-up and top four in the championship, and has produced many #J Leaguers and coaches. He was also involved in the development of Japan’s World Cup players, including Keisuke Tsuboi and Takuma Asano.
