Shohei Ohtani is officially ramping up.

Footage from Camelback Ranch shows Ohtani throwing his latest bullpen session as he prepares for a full two-way season. He previously shared that he entered camp in early February and has already thrown 3–4 bullpen sessions, building methodically toward live BP next week.

For the first time in years, Ohtani had a normal offseason — no rehab, no restrictions.

“I was finally able to have a normal offseason. I think I prepared well in the short time.”

His focus this year?

✔️ Pitching a full season
✔️ Staying healthy for 162
✔️ Preparing properly before leaving for the WBC

While he won’t pitch in the WBC, he emphasized he wants to ramp up as much as possible before heading to Japan — including throwing live BP here in Arizona so there’s no uncertainty entering the season.

Ohtani also admitted that playing two-way deep into the postseason was physically demanding in a different way than DH-only years — an experience he plans to carry into this season.

He looks strong.
He looks intentional.
And this ramp-up feels different.

Is this the year he enters the Cy Young conversation for real?
