Kenta Maeda makes his long-awaited return to NPB!
In his first start since returning to the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, Kenta Maeda showed flashes of brilliance.
He started strong with a perfect 1-2-3 first inning, looking every bit the veteran ace.
The second inning brought a high-pressure situation with the bases loaded and no outs, but thanks to some stellar defensive plays, Maeda escaped the jam unscathed.
However, the struggles continued from the third inning onward.
Maeda battled through several tough spots before exiting the mound in the 5th inning, finishing with 83 pitches, 5 hits, and 2 earned runs.
While his first victory since returning to Japan remains out of reach for now, it was a historic night nonetheless.
With this outing, Maeda officially surpassed 2,500 career innings pitched across NPB and MLB!
