Dave Roberts discussed Shohei Ohtani’s dominant outing against the Giants and explained why he believes the Dodgers superstar has transformed into one of the best pitchers in baseball.
Roberts praised Ohtani’s aggressive fastball approach, command, and complete confidence on the mound.

Roberts also explained that Ohtani becomes “a different person” when he pitches and believes the Dodgers star now fully understands how to attack hitters in multiple ways.
“When he’s pitching, he’s in his zone.”
The Dodgers manager admitted the organization is still learning how to best manage Ohtani as a full-time two-way player but feels confident the current plan is helping him become the best version of himself.
Roberts also credited Ohtani for helping stop the Dodgers’ losing streak with a true ace-level performance against San Francisco.
