The footballers from Mainz 05 have achieved promotion to the Bundesliga. On the last matchday they won the decisive game at VfR Warbeyen 5-0. The women of 1. FSV Mainz 05 will play first class next season. In the last game of the season, Mainz achieved a clear 5-0 win against bottom team VfR Warbeyen. The Mainz women are next to the women of VfB Stuttgart as the second promoted team in the Bundesliga. As soon as the whistle kicked off, you could feel the motivation with which the Mainz women wanted to play their last game of the season: to score a goal as quickly as possible against the bottom of the table from Warbeyen. The guests started the game with corresponding pressure and after just a few seconds of play they had a great chance through Chiara Bouziane, who put the ball just past the goal (1st). During the first half, Vital Kats (7th), Akari Kurishima (14th), Nadine Statt (16th & 26th) created many more top-class chances, but ultimately failed to take the lead. Even after a major bad pass from Warbeyen’s goalkeeper Elena Milam, Bouziane was unable to use this gift to take the lead (27th). Mainz’s 1-0 lead shortly before half-time Shortly before half-time, from Mainz’s point of view, it was “finally” that time. After a corner at the near post, Johanna Berg headed in to make it 1-0. With the narrow lead we went into the half-time break. After the break: Three Mainz goals in six minutes The Mainz women came out of the break much more confident and seemed more relaxed thanks to the lead than in the first half. In the 48th minute, Kara Bathmann was able to increase the lead to 2-0, before Nadine Statt was able to extend the lead to 4-0 within three minutes with her goals 12 and 13 of the season (51st & 54th). Final point by Chiara Bouziane In the 68th minute, the hosts, whose relegation from the 2nd league had been certain for weeks, weakened themselves. Mariken Kroon was shown the red card after an emergency stop. The final point was Chiara Bouziane who made it 5-0 in the 80th minute. Mainz women follow the women of VfB Stuttgart into the Bundesliga. The Mainz women succeed in marching straight through to the Bundesliga. The 05ers won their last nine games of the season and benefited from SC Sand’s point losses.
