Dave Roberts discussed Shohei Ohtani battling through five difficult innings against the Padres and explained why the Dodgers superstar did not appear to have his best stuff physically.
Roberts said Ohtani had to “grind” through the outing by relying more on sequencing and execution rather than overpowering hitters.
“I don’t think he had his best stuff tonight.”

The Dodgers manager added that even when Ohtani does not feel his sharpest physically, he still finds ways to win games because of how special he is as a two-way player.
