Ohtani said this outing was clearly better than his previous start, crediting adjustments he made throughout the week leading up to the game.
While many have pointed to the two-day break earlier this season as the reason for his offensive turnaround, Ohtani said the bigger factor has been technical and mechanical improvements at the plate.
He also explained that one of the hardest parts of hitting is maintaining the same stance and visual approach throughout a game and over the course of a long season.
Ohtani added that his upcoming day off will focus on recovery, reducing his workload and preparing himself physically for the stretch ahead.
