The Instagram post includes a photo of what appears to be a baby’s feet wrapped in a light blue swaddle. In a joint statement, Otani and his wife Mamiko wrote, “We are delighted to be able to celebrate this wonderful day together. Thank you for being born safely. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout this journey.” Otani was absent from the starting lineup for the game against the Orioles on the 19th in order to attend the birth of his second child. According to the Dodgers’ official website, Ohtani is expected to return for this weekend’s game.
