So who is the next Japanese import? Aside from Masahiro Tanaka, this guy deserves a look.
Kenta Maeda 2013 Stat line

ERA in 2012 = 1.53
Down year? Not quite. Japanese baseballs were doctored/altered/”F’d with” during the 2013 season. Essentially, they flew farther and HR totals jumped up all around the league. His total number of HRs allowed almost doubled (11 compared to 6). Still a low figure.
I’d have to go with Masahiro Tanaka as the “next big thing”, but Maeda is still a solid addition to any MLB pitching staff.
You can find both of their cards in 2013 Tribute WBC. Tanaka has cards in 2009 Bowman Chrome WBC. I recommend hitting up your LCS and digging through their cheap bargain boxes for some singles. Tanaka’s stuff has already jumped up quite a bit on Ebay.
