The Tokyo District Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched a search of the home of major advertising agency Daiko in connection with the bribery case surrounding the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. Former director of the Organizing Committee, Haruyuki Takahashi (78), is suspected of receiving 51 million yen in total from AOKI. On the 5th, the special investigation unit searched the Tokyo headquarters of the Kansai-based advertising giant “Ohiro”. According to people involved, Takahashi is suspected of working with Dentsu to have “Ohiro” selected as a contractor involved in the acquisition of sponsors under Dentsu. After that, it is believed that the money was passed from Ohiro, who became the contractor, to a company run by an acquaintance of Takahashi. Ohiro commented, “We will fully cooperate with the investigation.”
