Tokyo Olympics Corruption Case Suspicion that KADOKAWA was aware of the possibility of bribery in advance (September 15, 2022)

In a corruption case surrounding the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, a lawyer within KADOKAWA pointed out that the payment to the company by an acquaintance of a former director of the organizing committee may be illegal. Three people, including KADOKAWA chairman Tsuguhiko Kadokawa, have been arrested on suspicion of bribing Haruyuki Takahashi. According to people involved, the lawyer in charge of KADOKAWA’s provision of funds to the company of an acquaintance of Takahashi’s acquaintance as a consulting fee pointed out that it may be illegal.
