A competition to compete for the improvement results of wagyu beef is held once every five years, and about 440 cows from 41 prefectures from Hokkaido to Okinawa are exhibited. There is a “breeding cattle section” that examines reproductive ability and a “beef section” that competes for carcass quality, and the opening ceremony is held at a special venue in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. From the afternoon, judging will be held for the “special ward” where young artists will exhibit. By the 9th, the ranking of each exhibition area will be decided, and on the 10th, the final day, the Prime Minister’s Award will be announced and the “Japan’s No. 1 Wagyu” will be decided.
