Kohei Kameyama, who was born in Sendai City and is a former member of Japan’s men’s gymnastics team, visited Saiwaicho Minami Elementary School, his alma mater, on November 8th. Kameyama won the gold medal in pommel horse at the 2013 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. And he finished 5th at last year’s Tokyo Olympics. After retiring in June this year, Mr. Kameyama started a project to support the future of children. We enjoyed interacting with the children from the 1st to 3rd grades who participated while moving their bodies. He shared with his teachers that support from his own experience would help many people. Finally, Mr. Kameyama talked to the children of his alma mater about the importance of working hard to achieve their dreams.
