A former director of the organizing committee has been indicted for receiving bribes from the former president of advertising giant ADK Holdings in a corruption case surrounding the Tokyo Olympics. This is the fourth time the former director has been indicted. The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office has accused Haruyuki Takahashi, 78, a former director of the Organizing Committee, of receiving bribes totaling approximately 54 million yen from ADK Holdings and Sun Arrow, which sold stuffed animals used as the mascot of the tournament. Additional indictment was filed. This is the fourth time that Takahashi has been indicted in a series of cases, and the total amount of bribes he received is about 196 million yen. In addition, the special investigation unit indicted three people, including the former president of ADK Holdings, Shinichi Ueno (68), and the former president of Sun Arrow, defendant Yoshihiro Sekiguchi (74), and the company to which some of the funds were sent. Three people, including former representative Joji Matsui (75), were indicted without detention.
